Our club does rides year round. As the saying goes, “There is no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing.” In the winter if the roads are particularly icy we will either re-route or cancel the ride and drink more coffee instead.

The Rides

All of our rides are with experienced cyclists using road bikes and clipless pedals. MTBs and hybrids will not keep the pace. Since the rides are not broken into smaller speed or skill groups, you should be comfortable with:

  1. Riding a distance of 35-50 miles

  2. Climbing 2000-3000 feet

  3. Average speeds of 15-17mph with faster accelerations

  4. Pacelining in a group

  5. One mid-ride stop

The Rules

  1. All riders are expected to wear helmets during the group rides.

  2. All riders are expected to obey traffic laws. We are ambassadors while on the road.

  3. The Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m rides leave at exactly 7 a.m. If you haven’t watched our video yet, see why 7:01 is not acceptable.

  4. Because of the early hour and low light, all riders are expected to have on their bikes a bright front white light and bright rear red light to increase individual and group visibility.

  5. There is no follow car or neutral support. You are expected to have your bike in good working condition before you arrive, and to have the tools and skills to change your own flat.

  6. All riders are expected to dress appropriately for the weather.
